Job Title:  Engineering Technician (CNC Programmer)
                                                         
 
 
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the Machine Shop’s Technical Team, the Engineering Technician will be responsible for developing and maintaining processes, allowing us to meet our customers’ quality and delivery demands.  This includes ownership of part routings, machining processes within the CNC machine, work instructions, inspection criteria and other aspects of process control.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.
 
  1. Acts as first point of contact for technical questions and challenges from operators
  2. Participates in daily management to drive safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity performance
  3. Performs root cause & countermeasure analysis (RCCM’s) of internal and external quality issues
  4. Performs basic troubleshooting / repairs of equipment in area of ownership
  5. Develops machining processes and conducts process improvement
  6. Maintains documentation related to part routings, work instructions and inspection
  7. Participates in the implementation of personnel training
  8. Programs, sets up and operates machines in cases where direct labor associates are not available

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Solid time management skills and embraces a heavy and complex workload
  • Collaborates well with all levels / functions
  • Excellent attendance and disciplinary track record
                                                               
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High School graduation or equivalent required
  • Associates Degree or higher in mechanical discipline preferred
  • 3+ years programming and setup of CNC lathes/mills
  • Swiss lathe experience a plus
