Candidates that tend to be successful in this position are adaptable to a small company environment; hands-on management style; be task and results oriented; able to work and communicate with people at all levels from shop floor, to customers, and report to management. This is a detail oriented position that requires a leader that will roll up their sleeves and has considerable planning, judgment and ability to work independently while driving continuous improvement and optimization of all processes. You will oversee all daily operations of the plant including engineering, manufacturing and training.

 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions and responsibilities include the following (while others may be assigned):
  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
  • Commit to plant safety procedures
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Drives lean manufacturing, quality, cost reduction, on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures
  • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development
  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships
 
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in a CNC contract machining environment
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in a machining facility as a Plant Manager or Operations Manager who has the desire to accept a challenge
  • Excellent organization, management, and leadership skills, including strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Strong CNC experience is mandatory
