SALES ENGINEER - ROBOTIC ARC WELDING
My client is a leading supplier of industrial robots and automation systems and an integral member of one of the world's industrials giants. They are now looking for ambitious, career-minded, high energy and success focused individuals.
DEFINITION (POSITION PURPOSE)
The Sales Engineer is responsible for utilizing their knowledge of welding technology and processes in support and collaboration with the company's Sales Team to promote Arc Welding robots and related products to targeted customers and channel partners. This person will also support customer organizations to understand their specifications and requirements for robotic Arc Welding equipment and assist the company's Sales Team to communicate how the company's hardware and software products meet their needs.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Working with the company's Account Managers, seek out and identify specific Arc Welding opportunities and establish target customers.
Work with Application Engineering resources to support pre-sales activity, demonstrations, product evaluations, etc.
Forecast monthly Arc Welding product sales in volume, revenue and profitability.
Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors.
Assess the company's Arc Welding product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product changes.
Prepare and present technical presentations and proposals for Arc Welding products.
Attend trade shows and support the company's marketing activities.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Demonstrate a positive attitude and company focus.
Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering, or relevant subject matter.
Must have at least 3 years of successful Sales experience in Arc Welding automation.
Must demonstrate strong technical credibility in front of customers and internal engineering personnel
Must have high energy and strong commitment to work for results
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have proven record of cultivating long term relationships with customers
Candidates will be computer literate and a fluent user of communication technology
Willingness to travel in and out of Michigan up to 35%
Experience in field service and/or applications engineering is desirable but not required
