Job brief

My client, a manufacturer and seller of medical devices is looking for a sales and product training specialist to coordinate and support our sales team. Your duties will include delivering, scheduling and overseeing all training programs and identifying training needs.
Our ideal candidate will understand company’s corporate objectives and suggest ideas to achieve them through sales and product training. My client company has a unique value proposition and business model and you will need to instill these in the company’s sales team. For this position, you should combine excellent organization skills with an ability to interact with the sales team and motivate them to succeed. You should also be comfortable interacting with the management team to provide and accept feedback on adapting the training program to shifting market and company conditions.
Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our growing sales team is fully educated, to perform at a high level and increase customer satisfaction.
This job is based in Seattle, WA. Frequent travel is required.

  • Schedule individual and team training programs on a regular basis
  • Deliver training sessions in an engaging and motivating manner
  • Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of sales team members to identify training needs
  • Update existing training materials as needed and design new, high-quality sales training programs within budget limitations
  • Choose and implement the most appropriate training method per case (e.g. group face-to-face training, on-the-job training, role-playing, online training, etc.)
  • Evaluate sales team performance to ensure incorporation of taught techniques
  • Develop a metrics system and report on training program effectiveness
  • Create an open-communication climate and gather team members’ preferences for potential training
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training record
  • Stay up-to-date with the company sales processes, technology and job requirements
  • Proven work experience as a sales and/or product training specialist
  • Extensive knowledge of learning principles and modern training techniques
  • An ability to manage the full training cycle
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Understanding of modern sales processes and technologies
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organization skills
  • BSc degree in Business (Marketing or Sales), Education, Human Resources or relevant field
  • Additional certification in training is a plus
  • Knowledge of the Veterans Administration system, the healthcare field or the medical device industry is a plus, but not required
